OHV Enforcement Working Group |

Recently, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) in partnership with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) assembled an Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Enforcement Working Group to guide the agency in recommending changes to current OHV laws, regulations and practices. The Department is sharing this information with the extensive list of individuals and organizations who have expressed an interest in the subject of OHV management to allow you to follow the progress of this committee on DCR's website http://www.mass.gov/dcr/recreate/ohv/ohvworkgroup.htm and share your thoughts regarding OHV laws, regulations and management.

2011 RIDING SEASON |

ATTENTION: W.M.A.T.V. MEMBERS
We have not heard official word from the D.C.R. yet, but were told that Pittsfield State Forest will remain status Quo for the 2011 riding season. If you want to ride in PSF this year you will need to contact them to reserve a permit to ride on the day you want. You can also get them on the day you ride, but it is first come first serve. I talked to a dcr ranger at the end of the 2010 riding season and he said PSF only filled to capacity once all year last year. Contact info is as follows: Permit number is 1-413-499-5112. October and Beartown should be staying open and their status would be staying the same.If there is a change We will post it as soon as it is available.
New ORV laws will be going into effect this year. How the DCR is going to inform the public we have not heard, but be rest assured they will be enforcing them.

Riding season will start in May as soon as the snow melts and trails are fairly dry.
