Western Mass ATV Mission:
We are a non-profit club run by members, for members. We were started to bring like-minded riders together for organized rides, educational events and trail maintenance and sometimes just to socialize like our Holiday Party. We are charter members of the Berkshire Trails Council and the Mass Trails Assoc. As a club we are responsible for maintaining all of the O.R.V trails in Pittsfield State Forest. We are required by the state to complete at least 400 hours of trail maintenance each year, just to keep the forest open to the public. As a member of Western Mass ATV, you can be proud of the fact that you belong to the most proactive club in Massachusetts.

A.T.V. RIDING NOW OPEN IN STATE FORESTS
Thanks to the awesome effort of many volunteers, W.M.A.T.V.,NEW ENGLAND ATV,NORTHEAST ATVER'S,BERKSHIRE PATHFINDERS AND KNOX TRAIL RIDERS. The Pittsfield State Forest and Beartown State Forest are open for the 2009 riding season. October mountain and Tolland should be open on Saturday May 30th. Now that we have that out of the way we can try to get back into a regular routine. Since it took such a monumental effort to get this work done, We're going to take a few needed weeks off to recharge our batteries, spend time with our families and maybe finally get the lawn mowed.
At our next club meeting June 16th, the officers will put together a calendar of 2009 events and projects. Since we have quite a few vacant seats on our board, We will be looking at what we can realisticly accomplish with the amount of people we have. Obviously are first priorities are to AGREE and SIGN the M.O.A.'S with the state, (once they have been reviewed.) Decide if any maintenance is still needed in the state forests and complete our trail retread project which we started in 2008.
Again thanks to all who helped put in that extra effort we needed to get this done
NOW LET'S GO RIDING !!!
